When widespread discrimination prevailed, the training ground of Kalari withheld from segregation of caste and sex. As seen in the figure of ‘Unniarcha’ who was a woman fighter remembered in the ballads of “Vadakanpattu”. Over a physical exercise, it has a spiritual context.
